IT's IT

Along Highway 101, as you pass through Burlingame, you will see the It's-It Ice Cream Factory along the side of the freeway. Many years I have driven up and down passing by the factory's sign and wondered how their ice cream sandwich tastes. Dubbed 'a San Francisco Experience since 1928,' I finally got a taste of this iconic treat when Ryo brought home a box of 3 (sold at Safeway for $4.59).
(creamy vanilla ice cream + 2 oatmeal raisin cookies) covered in a thin chocolate coating = IT's-IT
Vanilla ice cream - Creamy and sweet. In terms of proportions, I think more ice cream would balance out the two oatmeal cookies better. Give me more ice cream!!
Oatmeal raisin cookies - Only ice cream sandwich that I've had that uses Oatmeal-Raisin cookies. It has a small amount of oatmeal in the cookie to avoid the cookie from being too dry. The oatmeal also retain a crunchy chewy texture that complements the creamy texture of the ice cream.
Chocolate coating - Being a serial-chocoholic, I was initially excited for the chocolate coating. However after having to avoid dropping any of the chocolate coating as I took my bites, I have concluded that the chocolate coating is unnecessary.
OVERALL: Having just one might not be enough since there's not that much ice cream in each sandwich. You'll also be craving for more of the oatmeal cookies =)
